Two Transistor Amplifier

Funway Electronics Project 15

As distinct from our previous audio amplifier, this two transistor amplifier will drive a speaker. It can be used on its own, or in conjunction with the one transistor amplifier (Project 13) for even increased performance.

You will need these components
Resistors:
One 1.2k ohms (brown – red – red)
One 100k ohms (brown – black – yellow)
One 470k ohms (yellow – violet – yellow)
One 500k potentiometer (variable resistor)
Capacitors:
One 0.047uF greencap
One 0.047uF disc ceramic
Three 10uF, 16 volt electrolytic
Diodes:
One protection diode (1N4002 or similar)
Transistors:
Two NPN types DS548 or similar
Miscellaneous:
One battery clip
One 8-ohm loudspeaker
One audio transformer 8 ohm to 1k ohm
Ten lengths tinned copper wire
Two 10cm lengths insulated hook-up wire
Two 20cm lengths insulated hook-up wire
28 self-tapping screws with washers
